I’ve just watched this lovely film Saving Mr. Banks for the second time. I wish by some miracle I could ask Kelly Marcel and Sue Smith to do a screenplay for my musical on the origin of the Statue of Liberty. I think they did a wonderful job of capturing the beauty of the story and building up very strong emotional involvement. Disney’s speech to Travers at her flat is a marvelous construct; they must have expended every bit of their talent and energy in building and molding it. Truly wonderful, Kelly and Sue, call me at 615-481-3461 if you would like a CD and a libretto. Thomas Blow, blowt000366 at gmail.com.
